The Five Year Global Adventure

The Five-Year Global Adventure: A Roadmap with Passport to the Nations

When it comes to shaping the hearts and minds of the next generation, few things are more powerful than helping children see the world through God’s eyes. Passport to the Nations was created with that goal in mind—to guide children on a journey that opens their eyes to different cultures, fosters compassion, and cultivates a love for the nations.

We’ve carefully designed a five-year roadmap that makes this journey both intentional and immersive. Whether you’re a parent, teacher, or ministry leader, this guide helps you understand where you’re headed and what to expect along the way.

Year 1: Passport to Latin America

Theme: Color, Culture & Community

The adventure begins in Latin America, where children are introduced to vibrant cultures filled with color, music, and deeply rooted traditions. They’ll explore countries from Mexico to Argentina while learning about family-centered communities, joyful expressions of faith, and the diverse landscapes of this rich region. Activities include cooking Latin-inspired dishes, playing traditional games, and learning simple Spanish words and phrases.

Spiritual Focus: Understanding that we were designed to be in fellowship with God. In fact, we can be friends with God.

Year 2: Passport to Africa

Theme: Resilience, Rhythm & Redemption

Africa’s story is one of strength and spiritual depth. This year, children will journey through a continent full of contrast—deserts and rainforests, ancient traditions and modern cities. They’ll meet believers living out their faith in bold ways and discover how the gospel is spreading across Africa. Activities include learning about the geography of the African continent, exploring unique wildlife, and discovering regional foods and clothing.

Spiritual Focus: Understanding the truths about God (Gospel Threads) that are woven together to reveal God’s plan for us.

Year 3: Passport to Europe

Theme: History, Heritage & Hope

In Year Three, children explore Europe—home to centuries of history and a continent in need of spiritual renewal. Kids will learn about cathedrals and castles, kings and reformers, as well as modern-day missionaries bringing the good news to post-Christian cities. With hands-on activities like painting a tulip field, making a gondola, and learning about famous landmarks, students connect the past with the present.

Spiritual Focus: Helping kids understand that the Bible is not many unrelated stories but ultimately, is one great, true, unified story.

Year 4: Passport to Asia

Theme: Honor, Hospitality & Hope

Asia offers children a chance to explore both ancient traditions and booming modern cultures. From rice fields in Southeast Asia to the crowded cities of East Asia, kids encounter spiritual worldviews different from their own and see how God is at work even in places where Christianity is a minority. This year emphasizes respectful curiosity, prayer for unreached people groups, and learning about God’s love for the world’s largest population.

Spiritual Focus: Using Henna to tell the story of God’s love for His people, as well as the ultimate sacrifice He gave in His son, Jesus.

Year 5: Passport to North America: The Nations Are Here!

Theme: Welcoming, Witness & the World Next Door

The final year flips the script—kids learn that missions isn’t just “over there.” It’s here, too. North America is home to people from nearly every country on earth, making it a unique mission field. Children will explore immigrant stories, celebrate cultural diversity within their own communities, and learn what it means to be a faithful neighbor and witness.

Spiritual Focus: Realizing that God has brought the nations to our doorsteps and that we’re called to love them well.

Why a Five-Year Roadmap?

This intentional sequence isn’t just about visiting continents—it’s about forming hearts.

Each year builds on the last, growing children’s global awareness, cultural curiosity, and gospel understanding. Over time, kids begin to grasp the breadth of God’s kingdom and their place within His global mission.

By the end of five years, your students won’t just know more about the world—they’ll love it, pray for it, and understand their role in God’s redemptive story.

Ready to Begin?

Whether you’re just discovering Passport to the Nations or already planning your first year, this roadmap is your guide. Let’s raise a generation of kids who are excited to go, give, pray, and welcome—wherever God leads.
